BETWEEN WORLDS – Between Worlds
Ronny Munroe, cantante dei Metal Church e delle Trans-Siberian Orchestra, torna con una nuova band e un nuovo album, per Frontiers Records e sotto le sapienti mani di Alessandro Del Vecchio. Da una band che si chiama Between World, autrice di un album che si intitola “Between World”, una title track come “Between Worlds” non presagisce un gran che bene, ma le idee ci sono, anche se spesso già sentite ma che la voce di Ronny Munroe sa far decollare bene il tutto, Il sound è comunque quel progressive metal fuso ad un hard rock trascinante e momenti di AOR raffinato e anche “These Walls” parla questa lingua e le parti melodiche sono più marcate.
“Life Enough For Me” ha nuovamente molta melodia ma più ricercata e “Time Of Changes”, altra ottima song, breve ma d’effetto, così come lo è “No Escape”, altro ottimo brano di heavy rock con John Lee Middleton (Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra) al basso come ospite e l’ex Savatage Chris Caffery all’assolo di chitarra, il chitarrista è presente anche in “Scent Of An Angel” e ci offre un’altra delle sue prestazioni chitarristiche. Altro ospite importante è Joel Hoekstra, chitarrista dei Whitesnake con un guitar solo eccellente per quello che è forse il brano più metal dell’intero album, “Soul Chaser”. Da segnalare anche “Scent Of An Angel”, struggente ballad d’effetto e i due brani conclusivi, “Beneath The Surface” e “Calm Before The Storm”, due brani che nulla aggiungono e nulla tolgono a quanto è stato detto fino ad ora. In definitiva un buon album, ascoltabile e fluido.
