Il vincitore dei Grammy Awards JASON MRAZ, pubblica oggi “Look for the good“, il primo singolo e title track del suo prossimo album in uscita il 19 giugno via BMG.

Look for the good è una sorta di omnicomprensiva filosofia per l’artista, che ha da sempre come obiettivo quello di portare positività e ottimismo attraverso le sue canzoni, esortando i suoi ascolttori a trovare speranza, anche nei momenti più difficili.

“I never imagined a year ago when I wrote this album how timely its message would be,” afferma Mraz. “Regardless of a pandemic, people around the globe need constant hope. Period. I believe that can be self-generated by seeing good in everything, especially in the midst of tragedy and fear. I’ve always been an optimist in my life and in my music, and my hope with this album is that it inspires others to look at these dark times and witness the good that human beings are doing for their families and for each other. To look for the good is to practice gratitude. For me, I am grateful for the technologies that allow me to record and share my musical thoughts and grateful to the ears and hearts that feel them.”

Il fondatore della Easy Star Records Michael Goldwasser (Matisyahu, Steel Pulse, Toots and the Maytals, and Easy Star All-Stars) ha prodotto Look for the Good presso l’home studio di Mraz in Sud California e Raining Jane, Abby Dorsey (Mc Flow) e Jeff Berkley hanno scritto la title track insieme a Mraz.

Look for the Good rivela la grande passion di Mraz per la musica reggae. La star cinematografica Tiffany Haddish e l’icona del reggae giamaicano Sister Carol compaiono come guests nell’album, che inizia e termina con la stessa frase: “look for the good.”.

Mraz aveva precedentemente rivelato la notizia dell’uscita dell’album durante “La La La Livestream”, il suo appuntamento settimanale in streaming sul suo canale YouTube, in onda ogni mercoledì.

Prima della pubblicazione di quest’oggi, Mraz si era esibito in una speciale performance di “Look for the good” sul suo profilo instagram all’interno di #TogetherAtHome, un’iniziativa di Global Citizen per celebrare gli sforzi e i sacrifici di tutto lo staff sanitario e per supportare la World Health Organization nella lotta contro il COVID-19.

Lunedì prossimo Mraz si collegherà live da Mranch, la sua fattoria dove coltiva caffè e avocado, insieme a Hoda e Jenna, ospite della trasmissione della NBC “Today” a cui seguirà la sera stessa una sua performance per l’emittente ABC durante la trasmissione “The Bachelor Presents: Listen To Your Heart”.
Mercoledì invece Mraz si esibirà per il “Earth Day Live” una maratona streaming di tre giorni a sostegno dell’ambiente, a cui parteciperanno anche Joaquin Phoenix, Rev. William J. Barber II, Patricia Arquette, Stacey Abrams e Al Gore.
