Il 21 e 22 aprile le pareti verticali del Garda Trentino saranno la scenografia della terza edizione di Arco Rock Star, il contest internazionale di fotografia di arrampicata.
Due giorni durante i quali atleti e fotografi andranno alla ricerca della foto che descriva il gesto atletico, ma anche il paesaggio e tutto ciò che ruota attorno all’arrampicata – dalla fatica ai sorrisi, dai tramonti alle birre. Insomma, una storia di passione per il verticale e per la fotografia.
Due le categorie, Pro, selezionati a invito tra i nomi di spicco della fotografia outdoor in tutta Europa e oltre, e Open, che a breve potranno invece iscriversi attraverso il sito www.arcorockstar.it o direttamente ad Arco prima dell’evento.
Per ogni team, un fotografo e un massimo di tre atleti. Ogni team dovrà presentare scatti capaci di descrivere il gesto atletico, ma anche tutto ciò che l’arrampicata significa, come l’ambiente, l’amicizia, l’avvicinamento, la fatica e il divertimento.
La migliore fotografia della categoria Open riceverà un premio di € 500, mentre le migliori foto della categoria Pro (ogni team dovrà presentarne 4, che saranno valutate nel loro insieme) saranno premiate con € 1500. Ai secondi e ai terzi classificati premi in materiale.
Novità della terza edizione è il premio speciale “La Sportiva Anniversary”, con cui Arco Rock Star celebra i 90 anni di La Sportiva.
Aperto alle categorie PRO e OPEN, il contest “Anniversary” sarà un tributo all’arrampicata e all’alpinismo del passato, sostenuto fin dai suoi albori dal brand trentino. La foto premiata, a tema arrampicata, sarà quella che con maggiore fantasia, emozione e bellezza racconterà l’essenza dell’alpinismo di un tempo attraverso atmosfera, capi o attrezzatura. Nessun vincolo tematico oltre a questo.
Arco Rock Star avrà inizio sabato 21 aprile al mattino e le foto dovranno essere consegnate entro le 15 di domenica 22. La giuria valuterà le immagini e la premiazione si terrà all’orario aperitivo di domenica.
Venerdì 20, il brief, non obbligatorio, con i team: un’occasione anche per bere una birra insieme prima di prendere lo zaino, la corda e la macchina fotografica.
L’evento si svolge durante gli Adventure Awards Days, il festival internazionale
dell’esplorazione, la cui settima edizione si terrà dal 20 al 22 aprile nel Garda Trentino: avventure e spettacoli, attività e incontri con grandi viaggiatori, amanti dell’avventura e esploratori si daranno appuntamento per condividere storie, esperienze e passioni. Sul palco, ogni sera, i grandi nomi dell’esplorazione e dell’alpinismo internazionale.
Il Garda Trentino,̀ mondo di acqua, rocce e natura dai profumi mediterranei incastonato in una corona di pareti verticali, diventa il palcoscenico ideale per un appuntamento rivolto ad una platea sempre più ampia di appassionati dello stile di vita e della vacanza outdoor.

On the 21st and the 22nd of April, the extraordinary vertical walls of Garda Trentino will be the scene of the third edition of the Arco Rock Star, the international contest of climbing
photography.
Two days during which athletes and photographers will go in search of the photo that describes the athletic gesture, but also the landscape and everything that revolves around climbing – from the fatigue to the smiles, from the sunsets to the beers. In short, a story of passion for climbing and for photography.
Two categories, Pro, who are selected by invitation among the leading names in the outdoor photography all around Europe and beyond; and Open, where people can soon register in our website www.arcorockstar.it or directly at Arco, before the event.
For each team, a photographer and maximum three athletes. Each team must present photos which are able to describe the athletic gesture, but also everything that surrounds climbing, such as the environment, friendship, the approach, the fatigue and happiness
The best photograph of the Open category will receive a prize of € 500, while the best photos of the Pro category (each team must submit 4, which will be evaluated as a whole) will be rewarded with € 1500. For the second and third classified material prizes.
The news of the third edition il the special prize è “La Sportiva Anniversary”, with which Arco Rock Star celebrates the La Sportiva 90th anniversary.
Open to the PRO and OPEN categories, the “Anniversary” contest will be a tribute to climbing and alpinism of the past, supported since the beginning by the Trentino based brand. The award-winning, climbing-themed photo will be the one that, with greater imagination, emotion and beauty, will tell the essence of mountaineering of the past through atmosphere, clothes or equipment. No thematic constraints besides this.
Arco Rock Star will begin Saturday 21st of April in the morning and the photos will have to be delivered before 3pm on Sunday 22nd. The jury will evaluate the images and the award ceremony will be held the happy hour on Sunday.
Friday 20th, the briefing, not mandatory, with the team: an occasion to have a beer all together, before before heading off with the backpack, the rope and the camera.
The event takes place within the Adventure Awards Days, the International Festival of exploration, the seventh edition will be held from April 20 to the 22nd in Garda Trentino: adventure and shows, activities and meetings with great travelers, adventure lovers and explorers will meet to share stories, experiences and passions. On stage, every night, great explorers and international alpinists.
Garda Trentino, the world of water, rocks and nature with Mediterranean scents embedded in a ring of vertical walls, becomes the ideal stage for a meeting aimed at an increasingly wide audience of fans of the style of life and the outdoor holidays.
