Mi piace molto pescare in estate.

Hello and welcome to Tuttorock. “All The Way” is your first album that comes out under your name, why this decision?
The whole idea started from the fact that Alessandro Del Vechio(Hardline,Jorn, Edge Forever) and I met on facebook. Alessandro asked if I was interested in going on to record a melodic rock project. I was excited about the idea because melodic rock is in my heart and I really like it. So after various steps, we decided that this album would come out as KRAEMER. I’m proud of the album and I stand completely behind it.

Have you ventured on AOR melodies and melodic hard rock, is it among your musical influences?
Melodic rock is my thing and is closest to my heart. I like this style of music a lot. I’ve never recorded album of melodic rock even though I’ve dreamed of it. I’ve sung in Simulacrum but it’s progmetal. Now this album is like a dream come true. I get most of my inspiration from good singers in their bands and from AOR genre H.E.A.T from Sweden is one of the best bands in that genre in my opinion.

Tell me about your experience with Timo Tolkki and with Simulacrum? Two different projects from the one you propose in this new album.
Being in a band with Timo(Infinite Visions) was a really good experience as a musician for me and I got to know Timo and his ways of working. We are friends with Timo and we will definitely continue to perform together. Timo is awesome musician and guitarist and i I respect his long career and all those awesome songs he had done. Newest album “Genesis” was well received, but we haven’t gotten to a gig because of this pandemic. However, in the Turku Archipelago Bar we had album release party gig at the end of last year and we have made a live recording, which should come out at the beginning of the year. We will resume pre-production for the new album this year and the album will be released in 2023.

How much and what did Timo Tolkki teach you?
Timo taught a lot about the music business and his stories from life were great to listen to. It was also really inspiring to work with him because I value him so much as a musician.

Tell me about the lyrics of the songs and their meaning.
The lyrics are about love and relationships. The songs talk about the feelings that many people go through during their lives. I believe many will be able to identify with these songs.

How did you meet Frontiers Records and how important was Alessandro Del Vecchio in creating the songs?
It all really started when we signed a record deal with the band Simulacrum with the Frontiers. We did a promo video for the album in 2020, where I will cover Steelheart’s “She’s Gone” song as a cover. Frontiers wanted to publish it on their own website. Shortly after the video was released, Frontiers songwriter and producer Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Jorn, Edge Forever) contacted me via Facebook and asked if I would be interested in singing melodic rock. I answered in the affirmative and a discussion began with the record company about the details. I wrote the record deal in November 2020 and after signing up, we started working on the record, as far back as I can remember in December. The songs had already been composed, with the exception of two songs. The songs were pre-recorded for the entire album in two months. The songs themselves were completely finished mixed and mastered in May 2021. Alessandro was very important in this album. Alessandro has been the author of every song. He has done a great job.

Did you contribute to the writing?
The songs were almost finished when I had signed a contract with the Frontiers. I got to hear most of the output before I decided to get involved this project. The songs pleased my ears so much that there was no need to go change anything. My task at that point was to make the best possible interpretations of these songs.

What are your musical influences, singers and bands?
There are some of them, but Dio, Geoff Tate (Queensrÿche) and Miljenko Matijevic (Steelheart), have always been inspiring singers. Also H.E.A.T, Queensryche, Rainbow from bands. Also I like to listen to all styles of music. Sometimes even classical music.

How were the musicians of the band chosen? They are all Italians.
These people have been selected by Frontiers and Alessandro Del Vechhio.   I’m glad they’re involved, they’re good guys and very professional players.

Are you planning a tour to support the album?
Definitely. No tours or gigs have been arranged yet. There has been talk, but because of the global situation, it has been difficult to make long plans when everyone takes turns to cancel. The dream would be to do a tour abroad sometimes.

Do you have other passions and interests besides music?
I like to live a pretty simple life. Family is important to me and leisure in general. I don’t want life to become too much to accomplish, but I rely a lot on my own intuition about what I want to do. I won’t do anything if it doesn’t feel right. I like fishing a lot in the summer. It’s one of the only hobbies when I don’t focus on anything other than that rod and lure. It is truly therapeutic.

Close the interview as you wish, a message for the Italian public, an invitation to listen to your songs.
I hope you like the new album and all the best. Album released on January 28, 2022.
